Post Impressionism

Came of  surface as a reaction against impressionists of the 19th century's, concern over the naturalistic depiction of light and colour - the broad emphasis on abstract qualities or symbolic content that made paintings

With Post Impressionist artists styles ranged widely, unlike the Impressionists whom painted to visually depict aesthetic visuals.
Post impressionists artists have a common motivation of respecting and believing that their art is heavily inspired by the Impressionist movement in the 19th Century.

symbolism and personal manifestos of meaning in art was one factor they all lived by.
A painting needed to make sense or depict meaning or a sort of value to the artist himself - the visual tale the paintings told was the importance of why they do their art.

The difference In Post-Impressionism and Impressionism

The primary focus and difference between the Post Impressionism and Impressionist movement:
was that of meaning and a personal connection to the art than how the audience receives it.
Post impressionist reflected their life into their art - also taking and transcending the impressionist style of art to make it their own and give it feeling
